Walleye and Steelhead Charters
Lake Erie and Ashtabula, OH is a top destination for trophy walleye and steelhead. Walleye fishing is best starting in June as the migration of millions of fish make their way east into the Central Basin of Lake Erie. The fish can be found close to shore and up to 20 miles offshore. As we fish the waters daily and work with several other Captains in the harbor to find these schools, we will go anywhere we have to go to get you and your group on a school of active fish. Steelhead are caught all summer but can be more easily targeted in the spring and fall months. Lake Erie fishing is a great fit for all level of anglers from high end professional to the first timers.

The Vessel
Our beautiful Pursuit 3000 Express "Game On" is 32' long with a 11' beam. It has all the amenities making it one of the most comfortable boats on the lake. Powered by twin 350 Mercruiser inboard engines we have the capabilities of getting to the fish fast while maintaining a very comfortable ride. It also has a large cabin to secure any personal items needed on the trip as well as a private head.

Captain Joe Ford
Capt. Ford has over 20 years experience fishing Lake Erie. After years of fishing with his grandfather, a Lake Erie and Florida Keys legend, and many more trips with 2 more generations of Ford mariners Capt. Ford made his way into the fishing industry. After several years of working as first mate to several highly experienced and aged veteran Captains of the Central Basin of Lake Erie, In The Box Sportfishing was born.
